What is it about Irish music that is so different, engaging, magical, and can only be labeled “Traditional Irish?” Why is everyone in the country “Irish” on St. Patrick’s Day? What is the connection between the music and the audience? This gathering features the culture of Ireland as heard in its traditional tunes. We will be sure to embellish with a few brief histories, a few briefer myths, and personal experiences. So, what is it that makes us mad for trad? Find the answer in Bobby Vesey's guitar lacings and rhythmic chords; his insistent beat on the bodhran; Maureen's mysterious airs as well as joyous dances performed on metal and wood penny whistles and Irish wooden flutes. Listen carefully: the answer is in the music.
